Taking engineering and design
to the competitive level:

Jr. FIRST LEGO League (JFLL) team members compete in the annual competition
hosted at LEGOLAND in January. Members meet 6-8 dates September thru January,
to build their model, participate in research field trips, and prepare their presentation
based on the competiton theme.

JFLL is suitable for students grades first through third.

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robotics team members compete in the annual local and
regional competitions during November and December. Members meet twice weekly
from September thru November to build their competition robot, attend research field
trips, and prepare their presentation which addresses key engineering challenges based
on the competition theme.

FLL is suitable for students grades fifth through eighth.

Registered Team Participants
The F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) organization's mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills.

Shared Science hosts JFLL and FLL teams in F.I.R.S.T. competitions for that purpose.
